Sneak Peek Saturday

Hi, everybody!

Wow, it’s been a while. Time flies and work gets piled up. Right? But I’m doing my best to get back on tacks. Namely, back on schedule for your sneak peek at Cloned Chaos.

Also, really exciting news! My graphics artist is working on the cover as this is published and a cover reveal is scheduled for February 14. So, if you hate Valentine’s day or if you love it…no matter. This will make Valentine’s Day something you can look forward to!

So, with out further ado–

Here is a sneak peak at a scene where Kita talks Michael for the first time.

Michael scuffed the toe of his shoe on the floor with down cast eyes as Kita followed Branson across the Hall. She grabbed his arm, spinning him around. “Levi! Are you sure about this? I thought we agreed the diplomatic approach was best.”

Branson smiled. His canine-sharp teeth still gave her pause. “Kita, he saw you walk through and asked about you. I asked him if he’d like to speak with you and he said yes.”

Kita glanced back at the board room doors.

“Lily said she’d schedule me as soon possible.” She wrung her hands. “You’re sure?”

“He initiated this, Kita.” Branson assured her. “I think it’s fine.”

Branson stepped closer to the boy, “AJ, this is Kita Jacobsen. Your birth mother.”

Kita couldn’t speak. Her throat squeezed closed and her tongue stuck to the roof of her mouth. Tears swelled in her eyes.

“Yeah, I know.” Her son lifted his eyes to hers, the same eyes she saw every time she looked in a mirror. Her breath caught in her chest.

He seemed to straighten a bit and lifted his right hand to shake hers. She lifted her hand and placed it against his petal soft palm.

“It’s a pleasure to meet you,” he said with such refined practice and cultured grace. His grip was firm but not oppressive. Tears spilled over her lashes and she swallowed the arid knot. A quivering smile reversed the emotional frown she had unconsciously been fighting.

“It’s nice to meet you, too,” she managed to utter. “You’re all grown up.”

“Not completely.” He smiled that gaping smile.

“No, I suppose not.” She chuckled. “Could—could we sit down somewhere…and talk?”

He looked around and gestured to a table and two chairs that had been shoved aside to make room for the infirmary cots.

Branson squeezed her arm and slipped away to give them some privacy.

Wasn’t that fun! I can’t wait to get this book into your hands. What about you? Are you excited to read the sequel to Fertility Pirates? Leave me a comment. I’d love to hear from you!

Until next time, May God bless you abundantly!
